The ALICE detector records a large amount of raw data generated by the proton-proton and lead-lead collisions provided by the LHC. It uses a number of systems to:

  • filter the interesting events and reject the rest,
  • record the data,
  • control the detector parameters,
  • monitor the quality of the data.
